Garnet - Color Change

#
A rare red to purple "color change or color shift" Madagascar garnet. Some dealers may call this stone a "color change" garnet, but "color shift" may be more accurate. Whatever the name, this stone is ultra-rare. This stone is very large for a color change garnet. Due to their rarity, GemGuide has no wholesale prices for these stones over 4 carats. The red is similar to a light red spinel or ruby and the purple is similar to a Rhodolite Garnet. These are two desirable colors in one gemstone. The gemstone is extremely clean at LI clarity. The stone has the high brilliancy and very good cutting and finish. Of course, these garnets are not enhanced. An interesting gemstone to collect or a different stone to mount in jewelry since the production of this material has practically ceased. Note: We have not submitted this stone for grading.
