An on-line Fine Jewels auction was held by Sotheby's Hong Kong. It completed on February 7, 2023. We hardly ever see Paraiba gems at auction. Lot 631 was a 6.12 Brazilian blue. As we can see from the image, really pretty blue. However, the oval modified brilliant-cut Paraíba is moderately-heavily included. It sold for $31,730 per carat or $194,189.
The clarity had to be the reason for this low price per carat, because these stones are super rare, not having been mined for decades. Could easily have been double to triple this price if the stone was clean.
